Some leadership decisions are about beginning.
Others are about ending.
Endings are often harder.
We tend to confuse release with failure.
A project ending can feel like failure.
A collaboration ending can feel like rejection.
A strategy changing can feel like admitting the original idea was wrong.
But sometimes something has simply served its time.
Holding on has a cost too.
The meeting that no longer needs to exist.
The project nobody believes in anymore.
The strategy that worked three years ago.
The role that no longer fits.
Closure is an active leadership decision.
Sometimes leadership means saying:
“This has served us. Now it is complete.”
Not because it was wrong.
Because it was right for its time.
Reflection
What are you still carrying because you have not yet given yourself permission to call it complete?
