Leadership is often confused with visibility.
The person speaking most.
The person taking the stage.
The person making the big declaration.
But authority does not always announce itself.
Some leadership is felt before it is heard.
It can look like listening carefully, asking the question that changes the discussion, creating space for someone else to contribute, seeing a connection between unrelated things or bringing calm to complexity.
Quiet is not the same as invisible.
Quiet leadership is powerful.
Hidden leadership is not.
If people cannot access your insight, presence or perspective, the strength remains unused.
Visibility matters as access to contribution.
The question is not:
“How loud can I become?”
It is:
“What does this situation need to hear from me?”
Reflection
Where could a small amount of courageous visibility make your contribution more useful?
